The pristine beaches of Antiparos
Antiparos is famously known for its beaches as a summer hot spot. What makes the Antiparos Greece beaches so special and sought after are the shallow waters, ideal for families with young children. There are plenty of secluded coves to discover, along with fun activities and water sports that you can take part in.
Top beaches to explore in Antiparos
There is a diversity of beaches available to enjoy and discover while on Antiparos. Here is the breakdown of our favourite beaches:
Agios Spyridonas Beach
Conveniently located only 200 metres northeast of Antiparos Town, Agios Spyridonas is a family-friendly beach that has shallow waters and plenty of natural shade from the many Tamarisk trees. The beach is in a bay, providing calm waters ideal for swimming and lounging around. There are plenty of little beach bars here, serving freshly caught fish and octopus.
Paralia Monastiria
Located on the west side of the island, this beach is known for its serene and isolated atmosphere. Paralia Monastiria is a tranquil escape, perfect if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. We recommend this beach for couples or families with young children. But, be aware that there are no amenities or restaurants located here, so remember to bring food and water.
Glyfa Beach
Glyfa Beach is on the southern tip of the island and has a long stretch of golden sand with calm waters. It’s best for families and is easily accessible with public transport from Antiparos town. There are umbrella and lounge chair rentals available here, but make sure to arrive early to claim your spot!
Livadia Beach
If you are in search of peace and quiet, then Livadia Beach is the ideal place for you. It is on the west side of the island, about 17 km from the town of Charo. It is known for its picturesque landscape and clear blue waters but the beach is affected by strong winds, therefore we don’t suggest going here with young children.
Paralia Psaraliki
Just a short walk from Antiparos Town, Psaraliki Beach is popular among tourists and offers amenities like sunbeds and umbrellas. It is made up of two small beaches and has soft sand and very shallow waters, perfect for relaxing and playing in the water.
Paralia Sostis
This is a secluded beach with stunning natural beauty, however, there are no services or amenities provided here, so make sure to plan and pack ahead. You can access this beach via car, along a rocky road, but try to get here early to find parking as it fills up quickly in the summer months.
Soros Beach Antiparos
Soros Beach is one of the most stunning and popular beaches in Antiparos. It’s located on the island’s east coast and spans 350 metres. This beach has an upscale feeling, with beach bars and lounges dotted along the shore. It’s a favourite spot for both tourists and locals.
Activities and relaxation spots on Antiparos beaches
The beaches in Antiparos have plenty of activities and spots to relax. For those who love the water, snorkelling around beaches like Glyfa and Soros is a must. The lively marine life and clear visibility make for an unforgettable underwater experience.
Swimming is another popular activity, with many beaches providing safe and calm waters perfect for a refreshing dip, or just floating on top of the subtle waves. On the other hand, if you prefer more adrenaline in your water activities, then heading to the northwestern tip of the island provides strong winds, perfect for activities like wind and kite surfing.
Hiking is another popular activity on the island, as there are many trails along the coastline. In the hot summer months, it might be uncomfortable and too hot, but if you go early in the morning, you can enjoy a scenic walk!
If you prefer some R&R, there are numerous beaches with sunbeds for hire. At Soros Beach, you can lay back at one of the beach bars and sip on a cocktail if you prefer.
